The 1 Minute Sermon

We are instructed to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind and with all our strength - this being the first commandment. To do this, we must fix our eyes on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. Being lukewarm - neither hot nor cold is no good, instead we should work out our salvation with fear and trembling. It is therefore imperative that we as friends, family and joint heirs, encourage one another and build each other up lest we forsake our first love.

Ref:

Mark 12:30

And you shall love the lord your god with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength: this is the first commandment

Hebrews 12:2

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of god.

Revelation 3:16

So because thou art lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spew thee out of my mouth.

Philippians 2:12

So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling

Romans 8:17

Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Revelation 2:4

Yet I hold this against you: you have forsaken your first love.
