Bounce-Back Kid

What do you do when you learn that your best efforts are not good enough? When what you know right now does not meet the grade? When you are criticized positively or negatively, what do you do? This is what I am learning to do:

Check your hurt ego at the door

Go back to the vision

Roll up your sleeves and decide to do better next time

Then discover how you can improve

Be as someone said a ‘Bounce-back person’. If you can decide that no matter what life brings you, you will be someone who perseveres, someone who sees the vision through to completion then surely, in time, you will hit the mark.

Let’s face it, things are not always as we would have them. We will be criticized and at some point in life we will be told that we are not good enough. This message may come softy or covered in thorns, either way it will sting. A level of dejection may arise and our precious egos will be hurt. It (our ego) will want us to cower away, it will say “I’m not doing that again, or I can’t do it”, “I tried but it didn’t work out” but if you believe enough in it, whatever it maybe, then something stronger will kick in the moment you decide to go at it again. It is essential as we grow to discover the inner-self that exists above and beyond the oh-so-fragile ego because this is what I know for sure, your ability to succeed will be dependant on how much elasticity you have. That is to say, the level of “success” you reach is directly matched to how much of a “bounce-back” individual you are.

The choice really is yours at the end of the day but know this, to live we must continue to grow and to grow we must continue to persevere to persevere we must bounce-back with every mark we do not hit, every door that shuts, every knock back we may have we must be a bounce-back kid.
